From Meta AI integrating itself seamlessly into WhatsApp chats, Instagram search fields, and even enhancing Meta Ad creation, to ChatGPT revolutionizing content generation, AI is everywhere in the marketing and e-commerce world. Whether it’s streamlining customer service or optimizing ad spend, artificial intelligence has become an indispensable tool across industries. It’s not just a trend; AI is changing the way we all work. At Budai Media, we've embraced this technological evolution wholeheartedly. AI has allowed us to work faster, smarter, and more creatively.
While AI has helped us with everything from speeding up research to organizing data and generating ideas, it’s also made us take a closer look at our processes. QA has become more crucial than ever—because while AI can do a lot, it still needs human oversight to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work. Here’s how we’re using AI at Budai Media to supercharge our marketing efforts…
Here’s how our team is using AI in their day-to-day work:
AI for Research and Learning
One of the areas where AI shines brightest for us is in research. Tamas, our Google Ads expert, uses ChatGPT and Gemini sporadically to tackle complex keyword research and get up to speed with niche industries. "Recently, I had a client in a highly specialized industry—they built software for electrical utility providers. ChatGPT was invaluable in helping me understand their product's functionality and the specific keywords they wanted to target," Tamas explains. AI allowed him to dive into a technical field quickly and efficiently, something that would have taken far longer through traditional research methods.
However, Tamas also notes some of AI's limitations: "While it's great for research, I’ve found that AI can really struggle with numbers. For example, I once asked it to explain how to calculate gross margin in a simple ELI5 style, and it made a ridiculous error—like claiming 9 times 100 equals 1000." AI might be an excellent research assistant, but when it comes to basic math and calculations, human oversight is still crucial to catch these mistakes and ensure accuracy, especially in areas where precision matters.
2. Streamlining Content Creation
AI's ability to organize and structure large amounts of information has been a game-changer for us, especially when it comes to content creation. Daniel, our founder, recently used ChatGPT to streamline the process of developing content for our new Google Ads course. "I threw in information from my YouTube videos, blog articles, other videos, and my notes, and AI helped me organize it all. It saved me hours," he says. In this way, AI isn't just a time-saver—it enables us to focus on the more nuanced, creative aspects of our work by handling the grunt work of organizing data.
3. AI-Driven Data Interpretation and Predictive Analytics
Beyond research and content creation, AI plays a crucial role in data interpretation and predictive analytics, particularly when it comes to improving email marketing. At Budai Media, we leverage AI through tools like Klaviyo to segment customer lists, predict the optimal times to send emails, and automate highly targeted campaigns. By analyzing data points such as purchase history, website behavior, and email engagement, AI allows us to create personalized email flows that maximize engagement and boost conversions.
One standout example of this is the EDONO (Expected Date of Next Order) flow, which we’ve set up for many of our clients. This flow uses AI to predict when a customer is likely to run out of a product and sends them an email reminder just before that happens. For example, one of our clients in the feminine wellness space sells vaginal melts, which come in packs of 14. However, customers purchase these melts in various ways—some buy them individually, others in bundles, and many opt for subscriptions. To accommodate these variations, we set up a customized EDONO flow that tracks each customer’s purchasing pattern. Through Klaviyo’s predictive analysis tools we’re able to calculate when a customer is likely to run out of their melts, and send out a timely email reminder based on the specific trigger, encouraging them to reorder just before they run out.
4. Using AI to Generate Content
AI has made content creation more efficient by handling many of the repetitive and time-consuming tasks, allowing us to focus on the more creative aspects of our work. However, as Nick, our copy coach, points out, "AI can sometimes be the nemesis of creativity." While it helps streamline our processes, we use AI as an assistant rather than a replacement. It reduces the burden of non-creative tasks, but the final touch is always done by a human to ensure quality and originality.
Here’s how we use AI:
✅Research Assistance: Quickly gathers initial information on topics.
✅Summarizing Content: Condenses large volumes of reviews and feedback into actionable insights.
✅Generating Ideas: Helps with brainstorming subject lines, hooks, and CTAs.
✅Outlining Content: Provides frameworks for blogs, emails, and social posts.
✅Simulating Customer Personas: AI is used to develop various customer personas, which allows us to craft content that appeals to different audience segments.
What We Don’t Use AI For:
❌Full Content Creation: We never rely on AI to write complete articles or posts.
❌Final Social Media Posts: The final content is always refined and crafted by our team.
❌Designing Entire Visuals: AI is not used to create images or artwork from scratch.
❌In-Depth Research: AI’s information is often surface-level, so we rely on human research for more detailed insights.
At Budai Media, AI has become an essential part of how we work—whether we’re generating content, creating visuals, or personalizing customer experiences. AI helps us work faster and more efficiently, but it’s important to note that AI is here to assist, not replace, the work our team does or the expertise they bring.
